Problems with our society

Is our society doomed?

I'm not usually one to complain, I'm only 14 so complaining shouldn't be one thing I do. But I will complain about this and this is that I believe there is a problem with our society. Or at least the Western society. You see people seem to be getting ruder and more troublesome. I go to a school that is very multicultural, you really notice that within different races you have different attitudes to other's and to their own race. I've noticed something, people act like complete asses to each other because no one knows one another. Then again some people are just born sniggering little B@$!@*)$. I am sick and tired of people treating each other like crap. I am not particularly popular, you can say my main group of friends is only 4 people. You know what, I couldn't have better friends, yet people and me sometimes can act like such jerks to me and them. I want to know one main thing, who's fault is it that people are like this these days, is it society or is it parents, I believe it is both. Society dictates peoples act or even their religion can determine the way they act to others. Yet I believe the real problem is parents not disciplining their little brat children. They let their kids run around, act like smart asses and go out partying, at a young age, I know 14 year olds who drink and smoke and it digusts me, I want to make sure I never smoke or drink because of people like them (I wouldn't smoke one way or the other, or to a lesser extent drink.) You know it sickens me that people don't discipline their children anymore. They don't yell at them, don't smack them don't even ground them. They don't know where their children are. Then people wonder why younger people are dying, why there are stabbing's, why kids are on drugs or crashing their parents cars, it is because of society and you parents. Discipline your children, because if you don't we are all screwed beyond belief. Talk to your kids, make time for them, teach them right from wrong and above all, teach them some damn respect for their fellow human beings. I don't think I am the only person on Earth that thinks like this, maybe I'm an old fashioned 14 year old because I grew up around older people, but I believe there is some sense to what I am saying.
Anyway that is enough for my first hub, please leave comments and constructive criticism and don't be one of those negative people who don't know about anything.

Highschool is a waste of time

Highschool, we go there for 6 years, day in, day out. I currently am in year 9 and I'll tell you something, I have not learnt a new thing since grade 6. Now sure you might say I'm just an average complaining teen but I'm not, I like to read, I like technology, I like enlightening myself, but school isn't enlightening us, it is complete and utter BULLSHIT. It is boring as hell and that is why more and more teens are skipping school, or playing games or in my case writing this blog in the middle of class. And I personally blame these laptops we are given, they are making us lazy and we have nothing better to do on them, we need more hands on activities in class. Anyway, I'll add more to this rant as I think of stuff.

Are touchphones really that great?

Hi, this is my first blog to whoever reads this so leave constructive criticism.


My first blog is about touch phones and how they are pretty overrated. Technology has gotten better and so have the phones on the market.But touch phones, they have become such a hype and I for one am sick of it. I'm not saying they are the worst thing ever, since I actually unfortunately own one, but come on, everyone seems to want the newest and latest one, even without knowing if it is really that great. They don't make life easier, you have to be looking at the screen to see what you are doing (can't dial in your pocket), they are getting bigger and bigger so they don't fit in pockets, and they are so expensive for a decent one that doesn't lag every time you press the damn screen. I don't think you need a giant touchscreen in your pocket if it actually fits. Anyway enough of what I think and some actual evidence towards my claims.

1. Touch phones and smartphones/androids are getting bigger in general, once upon a time our phones got smaller and they got smaller for a reason, because they are meant to be mobile and portable. Who needs to watch hd videos on their phone, I mean really needs to.
2. They can be slow and laggy, now not all of them are slow and laggy but most are, they take forever to load up and even longer to setup initially. I mean they put so many features and extra crap on phones nowadays you have to actually close programs on them for them to run, programs. My computer has programs, my phone shouldn't.
3. They are made for fanboys and those who want an accessory or don't know about technology, now granted, I don't know all that much about technology, but what I do know is good enough, I don't buy something because it has a processor, or it can multitask, or because it is state of the art, no I buy it for functionality. What about fanboys who sit there buying new phones when there old one is just fine, this is why people think you are weirdo's or nerds who can't get a girlfriend (most people don't fit into this description but there are some. As the big bang theory depicts.(Just saying))
4. Phones are made for calling people, I mean they have so many gadgets that calling people has become obsolete on phones. I see more people playing games and surfing the net on their phones then actually talking to people, granted it is better talking face to face but phones have become so complicated you can barely figure out how to call people unless you are a tech wiz.
5. What happened to buttons? I mean I like the feel of buttons under my fingers, I feel as if I am still alive, not just a person in they body of a robot. I love technology and innovation but really, you can't even dial these things without looking at them, I can dial my old phone in the dark but the with new touchphones you have no hope.
6. And finally the battery life, there are so many new and useless gadgets on new phones that no one will ever use and they suck the life out of the damned battery, they last like 2 hours before you have to charge them, and that is with light use. Get rid of the cpu's and the gyroscopes, and the compass and all the useless apps and the phones battery my last another few hours, like a phone should at least.
